In 2021, Neil Haave implemented an assignment for the capstone course in the Augustana Biology major for which students needed to research a biologist who was marginalized. The assignment asked students to research the reasons for why the biologist was marginalized, how they were marginalized, and how they are significant to biology. The assignment was again completed by students in the class when it was taught by Anne McIntosh in 2022. Below is our growing list of student generated websites.

In 2022, Research Assistants Beatriz Moreira and Jocelyn Kublik conducted research on how this assignment may have impacted the students understanding of EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion) on their personal lives and as future scientists.
