The Environment Club of BGSNPS organized an enriching and informative session on Plant Taxonomy, Biodiversity, and Nature Conservation on 15 June 2026 in the school auditorium.
The resource persons for the session were Mr. Ganesh N., a researcher, biodiversity enthusiast, and nature conservationist currently pursuing his Ph.D., and Mr. Gagan, a researcher dedicated to the protection of rare and endangered species in the Western Ghats.
Mr. Ganesh presented the taxonomy of the plant kingdom in a detailed and engaging manner, helping students understand the classification and diversity of plants. He emphasized the importance of observing nature closely and explained how careful observation contributes to scientific understanding and conservation efforts.
Mr. Gagan shared valuable insights from his research on the conservation of rare and endangered species in the Western Ghats. Both speakers enriched the session by sharing their field experiences, inspiring students to appreciate and protect the natural world.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and raising questions. The resource persons patiently addressed their queries and encouraged them to develop curiosity about nature and biodiversity.
Around 100 students from Classes VI to XII attended the programme. The session successfully created awareness about biodiversity conservation and motivated students to become responsible stewards of the environment.
