Domžale

Domžale is a town located 15 km from Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is home to 13,000 people.

Slovenia is a very sporty country, and the town of Domžale is no exception. There are many sports clubs here and we are proud of our football team who were state champions in the 2006/2007 season.

There is a pool, which is open only during summer, we have a stadium and many parks.

Fun Fact:

Have you heard of Anže Lanišek? He is a successful ski jumper, who not only comes from Domžale, but also attended our school, OŠ Venclja Perka.

The town of Domžale is most famous for its straw hat production, which dates way back to the 19th century. However, things have changed. Where once was a large straw hat factory, now you can find a shopping centre.
