Play Area Remodel Success
The children's play area is rotated frequently, come learn and play. We have Legos, power tools, dress-up, fishing, magnets, and crafts this month with a few other surprises.

July 2026 Summer Friday's at the Museum
A huge Thank You to our local Wharton County Game Warden, Scott Blackburn for coming out to teach us about the local hunting rules and regulations. We had a fun NERF day afterwards, followed by snacks while watching 'Open Season'.
Ed gave the children a fascinating look into the life of a honeybee, teaching them about the different stages of a bee's development and even demonstrating with a live bee colony. After the presentation, everyone enjoyed a movie, snacks, and playing some bee-themed games.
A big thank you to Ed and Julie for sharing their time, knowledge, and love of bees with us. It was such a fun and educational day! 🐝
What a fun fishing day we had at the museum on July 24th! We were joined by our local Wharton County and Matagorda County Game Wardens, who spent time talking with the kids about fishing in our community and across the great state of Texas. They taught us about different types of fish, fishing safety, and some of the important rules and regulations every angler should know.
After the presentation, the fun continued with snacks while watching 'Finding Nemo' then we played games and did a fun fish craft. 🐟
The kids made their way through nine different holes while golfing right through the museum's many exhibits. They had such a great time that one round definitely wasn't enough - they played the course over and over again!
It was a wonderful day filled with lots of smiles, laughter and friendly competition. Who knew exploring the museum could include a round (or three!) of mini golf? 🏌️
