Local Information

The conference events will be held on Illinois Institute of Technology main campus. All talks on Oct 26 will be given in the Ballroom of Hermann Hall (3241 S Federal St). All talks on Oct 27 and 28 will be given in the Main Auditorium of Pritzker Science Center (3105 S Dearborn St). Both venues are located on the IIT main campus, close to each other. See campus map (pdf)

The campus can be reached conveniently in several ways from downtown Chicago: CTA Red line train (White Sox/35th Street station), CTA Green line train (Bronzeville/IIT station, which offers a more convenient walk to the conference venues), CTA bus #29 (State street bus that stops on almost every block).

The train ride takes about 10-15 minutes from north Loop, and the bus ride is about 20-25 minutes (the bus may take significantly longer during rush hours). The cost is $2-2.50 for a one-way trip. The walk from the train stations to the conference site is about 5 minutes. The walk from the bus station to the conference site is about 3 minutes through campus.

If you prefer not to use public transportation, taxi/uber costs around $10-25 from north Loop and takes about 10-20 minutes, depending on traffic (may take longer during rush hours).

To reach downtown and IIT campus from O'Hare International Airport, you can either take taxi/uber or subway. Taxi/uber costs around $30-60 to get downtown (slightly more to get to IIT campus), and normally takes around 40 minutes (but can take significantly longer during rush hours). If you choose to take subway, Blue line will take you to north Loop (Clark and Lake station), from where you can switch to Green line, which takes you to IIT campus (the entire trip usually takes around 1 hour).
