Janet is a director and founder of ecl and nowhere in South Africa. Based in Johannesburg, she has been instrumental in developing and launching ecl’s holistic practice by working with non-profit organisations, schools, teachers and community groups. Her vision over the next four years is, with others, to continue to grow ecl in all areas of South Africa in order to foster the right conditions for children to thrive.
Her current work in ecl involves designing and delivering consultancy, training programmes and workshops to leaders in education, parents, teenagers, Social Workers and Psychologists working with children and parents. The work is based on a co-creative practice that encompasses fundamentals of systemic principles. Crucially she sees that successful education is predicated on students who are motivated and prepared to take responsibility not only for themselves but importantly each other.
Janet has worked for 15 years in the area of truth and reconciliation, and has been facilitating personal transformational workshops for leaders and professionals in companies as well as running public events. She has trained in the practices of Family and Organisational Constellations in South Africa and Germany.
Her goal is to effect healing and transformation to its people and their communities as a whole - and she sees that education is the key.
Sharon Gray OBE NLE

I am currently an Independent Education Consultant at Wholehearted Learning, a co-opted member of ‘engage in their future’ - representing special schools for young people experiencing severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties in the UK and New Zealand and a member of the Youth Justice Board (YJB) as part of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) - strategic lead for education and safety in youth custody.
My work and purpose is in taking systemic approach to help children, adults, teams, school, communities, local authorities, TSA’s, MAT’s etc to create environments that enrich the emotional well-being, creativity and learning of children, young people and the wider system around them. The focus is to release a child’s innate desire to learn and for them to discover joy in their learning and so achieve the best outcomes possible. Working with adults, I aim to enable and facilitate transformational working practices with those working in mainstream and specialist settings with vulnerable children, young adults and their families who face multiple challenges, including, mental health problems, inequality, poverty, violence and addiction. I have been a Headteacher for 21 years, most recently, the former Headteacher at a larger than average mainstream school of approximately 550 children in an area of significant deprivation.
Jane, a teacher, parent and grandparent, was involved in ecl from the start, working in schools with leaders and teachers developing the first tools and methodologies alongside Judith Hemming and Terry Ingham. She works as a systemic coach and facilitator.
Reggie has emerged as a valuable contributor to the success of ecl South Africa. She spent a major part of her career working in Global Companies earning her stripes in Marketing, Product Development, Strategy, Sales and Product Development. On leaving Corporate, she became an entrepreneur as a shareholder and director in a restaurant in Cape Town. It was during this period that she followed her desire to make a difference in education by offering her time and skills to various non-profit organizations helping to develop and implement fundraising campaigns. This experience, knowledge and skill underpins her leadership style. Reggie looks forward to positioning ecl South Africa to best respond to the current challenges facing education in South Africa.
Raymond is a dancer at heart – after leaving school he taught Ballroom and Latin dancing for Arthur Murry Dance Studio. Then, for seven years he pursued his calling to be a Catholic Priest. This time of formation had a profound impact on his understanding of the world and society, instilling in him a recognition that we all have the power to change each other in positive ways.
He completed his Masters Degree in 2013 to graduate from UNISA’s as a Research Consultant in Psychological Research (MaRC). His Research Internship with Sophiatown Community Psychological Services awarded him the opportunity not only to develop research skills but to work within the refugee community of Johannesburg, helping often traumatised mothers and children adjust to living in South Africa.
It was during this time that Raymond met Rasada, an ecl Catalyst. Over the years he has grown within the ecl community. He has used his research and counselling skills as a core member of ecl. For the last seven years he has run the equip Peer Mentorship Programme at Jeppe High School for Girls. At the beginning of 2018, he was elected to lead the South African ecl Hub as the Director. He established ecl South Africa as a NPO (Charity), set up structures of accountability and a registered board to ensure compliance to the South African Department of Social Development regulations.
Raymond has a passion for working systemically, always seeking to understand how various systems can be a source of strength for individuals. His journey with the Enneagram, a personality typology which began in his early twenties has always been a source of inspiration and inner guidance. And so he continues to dance…
Bibi Schreuder-Stam
Bert Hellinger Instituut Nederland
I am Bibi Schreuder, co-owner and trainer at the Bert Hellinger Institute the Netherlands since 2000. From an intrinsic passion for learning, I aim to provide people their own experience of learning by facilitating the process. In order to help people getting a grasp on the systemic approach I developed a numerous amount of exercises. I appear to be a precise observer with a good sense of humor and a great love for the profession.
Although I love to explore with constellations how systems function, I always said: “Within ten years we won't need constellations anymore”. Feeling the need in the field of education and schools for systemic knowledge, but very aware that teachers should not become therapists, Bibi developed in 2006 the training Systemic Pedagogics, the first training in systemic phenomenological work without constellations. Systemic Pedagogics teaches professionals working with children how to apply a systemic attitude and systemic knowledge.
Later on followed by the training Systemic Coaching Without Constellations.
In 2016, I and my husband, Jan Jacob Stam, wrote the book: ‘Systemic Coaching, Systemic Work Without the Constellation’. This book - also useful as a manual for constellators - has been translated into more than six languages.
My expertise in systemic pedagogy is a result of my background in education. I think it is very interesting to systemicly investigate theme’s like ‘bullying’, ‘learning difficulties’, ‘autism’, and so-called “strange” behavior. By doing constellations and systemic coaching and giving trainings in systemic constellation work, I am able to support people in their movement in life or work. Moreover, I teach in several countries (Latin America, Russia, Egypt and several European countries, in English).
I completed the Gerrit Rietveld Art-Academy in Amsterdam and from 1976 to 2001 I worked as an Art teacher, being a trainee-coach and -coordinator as well.
I am married to Jan Jacob Stam and mother of a son and a daughter (who are adults already).
I have always been fascinated by the forces of nature, like the beauty of a tree healing its branches after a heavy period of glazed frost. I perceive systemic work in the same way as the undeniable power of nature – you can only go with the flow , never against it.
