Ensembles

Our Orchestras

Eckstein is proud to have a wonderful orchestra community that supports students as they learn and grow and makes it possible for us to have multiple orchestras for students during Middle School. 

Each school year, we see how many new and returning students sign up and decide how many class periods and orchestra groups we will have. Typically, we have four orchestras. Orchestra placements may shift early in the year as we get to know your artist and balance across the groups.

Our four orchestras include (click the links to learn more about each and to see their upcoming schedules):

Introductory Orchestra: for our beginning students with less than a year of instrument or orchestra experience

Premiere Orchestra: for students who have played for a year or performed with an orchestra

Intermediate Orchestra: for students who have played a few years or performed with an orchestra

Concert Orchestra: for our advanced students with years of experience

Other Ensemble Options: We also support students in their practice and performances outside of orchestra and host periodic ensemble performances for soloists, duets, and small groups. These typically happen in the early Spring. We are also hosting a Chamber group before school starts and this is invitation only for appropriate students.
