Mission
The Echo Lake Association is committed to preserving the natural beauty and ecological health of Echo Lake through stewardship, conservation, and community for generations to come.
The Echo Lake Association:
Has a dedicated Board of Directors, communicating with your lake neighbors and beyond, helping to keep our water clean and safe;
Organizes the many volunteers who help with Courtesy Boat Inspection (CBI) in an effort to keep invasive plants out of our lake;
Organizes and trains volunteers who participate in Invasive Plant Patrol (IPP) in an effort to find invasive plants should they make their way to Echo Lake;
Manages and maintains the Echo Lake Dam;
Does regular water monitoring throughout the year;
Publishes regular newsletters and updates;
Maintains the ELA website;
Organizes our Annual Meeting along with social events;
Advocates to the Maine Legislature on bills to help the Lake;
Partners with Maine Lakes, Lake Stewards of Maine and 30 Mile River Watershed Association to help the lake;
Interacts with Camps Laurel, Vega and Winnebago to improve boating safety and maintain cordial relations.
A strong lake association protects property values. Echo Lake is one the cleanest lakes in Maine but it takes all of us to keep it that way . This is more relevant today than ever.
