I am originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am married and an enthusiastic reader. For fun I love to do puzzles and aerial sports like silks, hoop and hammock.
My first career was in aquatic biology. I first worked in a aquatic macroinvertebrate lab identifying insects. Then I worked 6 years in Idaho working for a travel fisheries biolgy crew. We marked and tagged anadromus fish in all of the state and a few of the federal hatcheries. When I was tired of the travel I wanted to stay in the science feild, and fell in love with teaching.
I teach in GRPS at Riverside Middle school. I am a 6th and 7th grade science teacher. The school is currently housed inside of Innovation Central High School. It is a small school with around 250 students. We have a diverse student base including minorities, students from other countires and students with special needs.
