Here are some of our planned events for 2026. For updates and changes, please check back regularly here or on our Facebook page. Many of these take a lot of effort, so please do your part by volunteering your time on setup, cleanup, and other tasks. Contact our president Missy Newcomer to find out how you can help, or if you have ideas for other activities for fun, education, or family support. Other events may be added throughout the year.

This event has been canceled! Mom's Nite Out: Saturday, April 11, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
This gathering for moms is at Northside Baptist Church, 53119 Johnson St, Elkhart 46514. This is the church of our new Vice-President, Heather Miller, who reserved a room in their white house on the east side of the church parking lot. Come for a relaxing time of fellowship, and bring some finger foods to share (and a game if you’d like). The house has kitchen facilities.

At Northside Baptist Church,, 53119 Johnson St, Elkhart 46514. This gathering is for our families of all ages. Heather has reserved the gym, which will be set up with 3 pickleball courts (balls and rackets provided), and an area for other running around and activities. Bring a snack to share, and be prepared to have some fun!

At Movies 14 in Mishawaka. Heather (our Vice-President) will be getting tickets for the new Minion movie. The group will buy the tickets for those who RSVP. Those who attend will be responsible for their own refreshments. Watch for further information.

At Cook Station Park in Millersburg. Once again our group will be renting a giant water slide for kids of all ages, so bring your swimsuit and a towel. This is always a good time, at a location where you can let your kids run free. Our head chef Ken will be cooking up burgers, brats, and hot dogs, and the group will provide drinks and paper supplies. Please bring a side dish and/or dessert to share.

Our group will provide meat, beverages and tableware. Members are asked to bring a side dish and/or dessert. There will be music for dancing and hopefully Santa will visit!

At Abshire Park in Goshen. This annual running event is our main fundraiser and uses the Pumpkinvine Trail for a variety of walks and runs (up to a half marathon). We need a lot of volunteers, raffle items, sponsors, and runners to make this popular run successful. Every family is needed! Information will be posted here and on the ECDSSG Facebook page as the date gets closer, but put this date on your calendars NOW! ECDSSG members: to receive scholarship money for 2026, you need to sign up to help with this event or raise $500 in donations (feel free to do both!). More details will be added later.

This 2-story building is located on the east side of the parking lot behind the Farmers Market, 212 W Washington Street in Goshen (note: there is not an elevator). Enter through the door on the north side of the building. Art teacher Amanda Wagner will be leading art activities.

At Cook Station Park in Millersburg. This is a great location for a picnic, and the group will be renting a giant water slide for kids of all ages, so bring your swimsuit and a towel. This is always a good time, at a location where you can let your kids run free. Our head chef Ken will be cooking up burgers, brats, and hot dogs, and the group will provide drinks and paper supplies. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share.

At Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend. For those who have not been there yet, this zoo is very accessible and attractive and has a lot of variety in a small space. We will meet at the entrance at 2:00 pm. The group will pay the entrance fee, plus 2 ride tickets per person. You can then wander the zoo in whatever size group you choose and leave when you wish. Do Not be late or you will have to pay your own way. Our treasurer will write one check for the whole group and will not wait at the gate to pay for latecomers.

At Abshire Park in Goshen. This annual running event is our main fundraiser and uses the Pumpkinvine Trail for a variety of walks and runs (up to a half marathon). We need a lot of volunteers, raffle items, sponsors, and runners to make this popular run successful. Every family is needed! Information will be posted here and on the ECDSSG Facebook page as the date gets closer, but put this date on your calendars NOW! ECDSSG members: to receive scholarship money for 2025, you need to sign up to help with this event or raise $500 in donations (feel free to do both!). More details will be added later.
