PhD students

In general, we are always open for enthusiastic young students who want to a PhD with us. There are three principle ways PhD students are funded. However, whichever route you are interested in, it is key to contact us early, as our availability varies and any ideas need to be developed together! In fact, ideally a prospective PhD student has done a MSc project with us!

1. Through a competitive "concour" i.e. selection process within the University of Lyon Neuroscience graduate school. https://nsco.universite-lyon.fr/concours-de-l-ecole-doctorale/ . In general this is the most flexible type of funding as it is directly linked to you.

2. Funded through a research grant. As this funding is normally linked to a project grant, it means that the students PhD projects need to align with the goals of the research funding.

3. Depending on the potential PhD student, there are also opportunities to get funding through research charities or foreign government Scholarships.
