Ẹ̀bùn-Èdè Institute: Yor. 101 with Oluko Yetunde
Ẹ̀bùn-Èdè Institute: Yor. 101 with Oluko Yetunde
Ẹ̀bùn-Èdè Institute is a space where Yorùbá is not just taught but is lived, spoken, and shared. We believe language is more than words; it is identity, memory, and belonging. Through joyful, interactive learning, children begin to use Yorùbá in ways that feel natural, meaningful, and connected to their everyday lives.
Our approach centers on speaking, storytelling, and community. We create warm, low-pressure environments where children and their families can grow in confidence, build relationships, and experience language as something shared rather than owned. Here, learning is not about perfection. It is about connection.
Hence, we welcome you to our language and culture class, where we engage in a fun way to learn our heritage language, Yoruba.
Please, carefully review the History and FAQ page for more details.
I am glad you are on this journey with me.
E kaabo!
This class is designed as a community for Yoruba-speaking families in Nigeria and the diaspora that want to learn Yoruba in a simple and fun way. This is a no-judgment zone and learners come as they are to be in community. Most resources will be YouTube videos, teacher-curated resources, and a free online textbook . Please note that this textbook will be on a need-based basis and so, there should be no heavy reliance on it. Directions for use and unit to examine will be communicated when needed.
As you navigate this site, please start by watching the introductory video, as it will give you a clear picture and set expectations for our course. Specifically, I want to invite you to navigate this section by following this order:

Complete the Learner Inventory
Review the learning objective because my expectation is that this is achieved, even though there will be no formal assessment. Your exit ticket and the series of class activities/conversations should demonstrate achievement of the learning objective.
