This is a short guide on how to join our Discord server and using Discord. First, head over to Discord's website and make a free account. Discord can be used directly in your browser, but using the client version is recommended. After this, join our server by scanning the QR code below or via the link under the the QR code.

You are now in the Discord and see a description of the available channels, which are available to the left. Click on them to swap to the channel of interest.
The bottom channel, with a megaphone, is a voice and video channel. This one will be used for the opening sessions, getting information about the tasks and more.

One of the more important parts is the left sidebar. In the top, right next to the server name you have a small arrow - click it and you get the option to set your nickname (second image). We ask you to set it to your real name.
Here, you also have the notification option, where you can change how you want get notified by new messages.
In the bottom of the sidebar, you can see the buttons to mute yourself (the microphone), turn of sound (headphones), turn on your webcam (Video) and share you screen (Screen). Above "Screen", you find the button to leave the call (phone x).
Get access to team channels
For the competition, you will have private text and voice channels for your team. Go to the channel #team-assignment and tell us who you are, and then the organizers will give you your server role so that your private team channels show up.
