The Edmonton Business Diversity Network is run by a volunteer Board of Directors.
The Edmonton Business Diversity Network is governed by a Board consisting of the Chair, Past-Chair, Knowledge Office, Communications Officer, Membership Officer and Directors. The Board will consist of 7 to 11 people and quorum is defined as 5.
Board membership represents a cross-section Edmonton’s business community, not-for-profits, government, professional associations, social enterprises, and post-secondary institutions. The majority (minimum of 50% plus 1) of Board Directors will represent Edmonton’s business community.

She is passionate about connecting people and sharing her non-profit experiences advocating for the equality of women and girls. Erin Davis is an award-winning expert, inspirational speaker, and global thought leader in the field of diversity, equity, and inclusion, helping people feel a sense of connection and belonging. She is the founder of Erin Davis Co. and as Lead Inclusion Strategist helps leaders understand their role in creating a more inclusive workplace to unlock creativity and enhance innovation. Erin also empowers diversity and inclusion champions at all levels to find their voice and supports their journey to create a more inclusive world, one conversation at a time. She is a passionate social justice advocate committed to challenge the status quo and helping others to make the same commitment authentically and bravely.
In addition to serving on the board of the Edmonton Business Diversity Network, Erin supported the City of Edmonton’s Community Safety and Well-Being Task Force to develop recommendations to address racism, discrimination, excessive use of force, poverty, and homelessness in the City of Edmonton, and currently serves as a Director with both McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association and Explore Edmonton.
She currently lives in Treaty 6 Territory, Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta, in Edmonton with her husband and two amazing children, where they both work to teach them about a world where inclusion truly matters.

Janet Waltho (CPHR) has been an active member of the Human Resources community in Edmonton since 2006. Janet’s been involved in a variety of roles, including Learning and Development, Employment Equity and HR Generalist/Manager for both large, unionized companies and smaller local businesses. She volunteers for a variety of causes, including pet therapy, mentoring students (U of A), junior HR professionals and new immigrants (ERIEC) and is excited to be a part of the team at Edmonton Business Diversity Network.
Prior to her journey into Human Resources, Janet spent five years in Japan working as both an ESL instructor and developing curriculum for junior high students and business clients. This was her first taste of diversity and the importance that it has in developing well-rounded teams. She was a natural choice to champion Employment Equity at a large company in Edmonton, and has informally supported diversity initiatives in all her positions since then.

Fred has over 13 years of experience in the management of HR especially for the construction industry in multiple Provincial & Federal jurisdictions across Canada.
Heavily involved in multidisciplinary teamwork, Frédéric is recognized as persuasive, dedicated and persevering leader with his collaborators. He is always on the lookout for new trends in management in order to constantly improve the overall experience within and beyond his organization.
Frédéric’s roots with diversity and inclusion come from being raised close to Montreal in Quebec and being exposed to multiple cultures and different backgrounds from a young age during his education and while performing in sports. His favorite quote from an African Proverb: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
Development and Outreach Officer, CPA Education Foundation (Charitable Arm of CPA)
Nike manages relationships with donors, Alberta post-secondary institutions, and community partners. As part of the Foundation team, Nike helps to provide up to $1.2 million in funding to students and post-secondary business schools to advance accounting education in Alberta each year.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce, Management major from MacEwan University in 2016, she began working with CPA Alberta as a Recruitment Officer where she developed a range of professional experience including; campus recruitment, marketing, and event planning.
Outside of work, Nike enjoys live music, spending time in the river valley, visiting local coffee shops, and reading non-fiction.
Vice-President, Aksis
Evert Poor is an active Board Member for many organizations, including Aksis. Aksis is a not-for-profit Indigenous organization with a goal to facilitate the successful growth and resilience of the Indigenous business and professional community in the greater Edmonton area. He holds board positions as a Director of the Archeology Society of Alberta Edmonton Chapter. A Director on the Alberta Historical Resource Foundation board. Board member of the Grant MacEwan Research Ethics Board. He is a volunteer historical interpreter at Fort Edmonton Park with over 18 years of service.
Professional experience is over thirty-nine years of management roles with TELUS Corporate communications. Managing retail stores, call center operations and numerous marketing roles. Worked for Stentor Resource Group a Canadian national telecommunication business enterprise as a team lead of small business market planning and product service development. Attended Mount Royal College Radio and Television arts program and worked as an radio announcer for CKRD Red Deer.
Evert is a member of the Tootinaowaxiibeeng (Valley River ) First Nations. A passion for and desire to give back to his community resulted in being selected to serve on the TELUS Diversity Council and as a lead for the TELUS Aboriginal Resource Group. He has been active in a number of other community organizations such as chapter President of One Parent Families Association, President Lloydminster Day Care Society, President Mall Merchant Association. Recent national council member of the TELUS Community Ambassadors volunteer organization. Awarded the 2017 SAGE Community Builder award. A 2018 recipient of the Governor Generals Medal for Volunteers.
Community Relations Advisor, City of Edmonton
Jenn Bewick is a founding member of EBDN and is a community relations advisor with the City of Edmonton. She works closely with internal and external stakeholders to educate, communicate and engage citizens on key matters and programs as they relate to the City. She is also a member of the Community Services Branch GBA+ Committee.
In her previous world, Jenn provided guidance and support to practice groups at Dentons in the are of project management, communications, event management, coaching, and the mentorship of her staff and teammates. She also championed the Edmonton office's commitment to EDI leading its engagement in a number of key initiatives on both a national and global level.
Her happy place is collaborating with others in the EDI world to create a safe and inclusive environment where people can bring their authentic selves to the work they do.
Outside of work, Jenn finds joy onstage and exploring the great outdoors with her tiny human.
