Any problem can require more time to find the solution, says Penrose, who won a Nobel prize for his work on string theory, quantum mechanics, and more, in 2020.
He says that a teacher of his saw that he got below average marks on exams and projects, but he simultaneously saw that Penrose only finished half of the assignment - however that half was completed to a high degree of accuracy. Giving Penrose more time, the teacher saw a significantly finished workpiece that would score very high in marks and completeness.
Some things can be done quicker but sometimes longer is needed. Brian Green also mentioned giving his University students as long as they need for exam projects and seeing some take up to "12-14 hours" to solve all of the complex problems with complete solutions that have thought put into them.
