Getting Homes Near Food Places

Are you concerned about food places around you while researching the Property market in Singapore for buyers very fervently? The good news is that in Singapore, as 80% of Singaporeans live in public HDB flats, more than 70% of people live very near food places. These include eateries such as the most common coffeeshops, hawker centres, cafes, fast food outlets and even shopping malls, where many food eateries such as food courts and restaurants are located. There is certainly no dearth of food eateries places when it comes to living in Singapore.

But perhaps the bigger question is what happens if you live in the property near food places? Well, some of the following things are expected:

High Noise Level

Many HDB flats are located above or near the coffeeshops. Some more are located beside the food centres. Well, while it can be very convenient for you to get food as and when you like it, you have to make some trade-offs. You are expected to bear with the high noise levels, even at night times, well after 9pm.

There is a tendency that many uncles or even youths will start crowding around at the coffeeshop well past midnight and start talking and chatting loudly. While there may be restrictions on beer drinking (as you can only place order before 10.30pm), and smoking too, these uncles do sit around and joke and laugh out loud.

Residents would often complain about the high noise levels while they are trying to sleep to the local Members of Parliament or other grassroots associations, such as Peoples' Association clubs. But they tend to get used to such unbearable noise after a while. The only exception is occasional fights that may occur from time to time that would heighten the noise a little more. But police patrol would be done frequently around the clock to ensure noise levels are being kept to a minimum too.

Creepy Crawlies Around The Void Decks

Another areas of concerns are bugs or insects that tend to crawl around searching for food waste that might have been accidentally dropped onto floors or even into drains or grass fields. Cockroaches, flies, mosquitoes and even lizards might crawl here and there rampaging for food on their own. This might serve discomfort to the residents who might even sometimes face them even in their own flats or terrace homes. Once, a cockroach could be found swimming in a swimming pool of a condominium too, because of a food or drink spill near the vending machine. Well, we hope to clean up as much as possible, even the bins included as well. Creepy crawlies are part and parcel of living anywhere in the world but we always hope to keep them to minimal levels by not dirtying the places around us.

Property Prices Near Major Food Outlet Areas

Normally, this refers to the shopping malls that have sprung up right all over the heartlands of Singapore. Tampines Mall is located not far from HDB housing flats, so do Parkway Parade that is near the SilverSea condominium and AMK Hub which is near the flats too. How about those condominiums above the shopping malls? These malls have more than 5 food outlets normally, including fast food restaurants, cafes and food courts. Hence, looking into the property market in Singapore for buyers is of utmost importance in order to consider getting homes near food places.
