You must file your taxes for the current cycle by the due date. You can file early if you believe that your assets are unlikely to change. You will not be penalized for filing early and experiencing unexpected new changes to your assets. You may also estimate changes if you'd like to file early, and are aware of upcoming changes. If you aren't sure, file on or by the due date.Â
Identify the tax form you need. Click 'Forms' at the top of the EasyFile website. You can view details instructions of all published fields in 'Instructions' at the top of the EasyFile website.
Download the document to .docx, .pdf or click 'Make a Copy' under File on Google Docs. This is the easiest way to fill the form.
Use the form you downloaded or copied via Google Doc to fill out the form using the instructions.
To submit your form, click 'IDOC' at the top of the EasyFile website, you may need to click or hover over 'Services' to see the 'IDOC' option. Follow the page instructions to submit your forms. You can also submit in other alternative formats, see the 'IDOC' page near the bottom for instructions.
After you file, you will recieve an automatic confirmation email from the BIRS. You will also recieve a confirmation number. You can also download the document you submitted through the email as well.
If you made a mistake, you can log back into IDOC and change a submisison. If you do not see the submission anymore, it cannot be edited. We'll let you know if there is a mistake. There is no penalty for making a mistake. If you choose to not respond to a letter we send you, you may be sued. We do not charge penalties for late filings, but you may be sued.
Within 5-10 business days, if you do not receive any additional documentation or mailings from the BIRS, your forms were processed and completed successfully with no tax obligation owed. If you made a mistake or owe taxes, you will receive a letter detailing that information.
July is not included in any tax cycle. Do not include activities of July.
