Blog Recap
Easy Meals With Meg is a food blog based around easy meals that college students or young adults can make. This blog focused on cheap meals with simple ingredients and instructions that did not take a long time to construct. For eight weeks, I covered topics like crockpot meals, meal prep, vegan recipes, and side dishes to take to holiday gatherings.
Whether you are really good at cooking and just want easier meals to make during the week or if you are new to cooking and want to build your skills, this is the place for you.

Promotion Recap
My initial goals for my promotional efforts were to keep consistent branding across posts with green and pink accents, catchy captions, and engaging stories. I wanted to interact with my followers and create that trusting relationship with them.

Extra Statistics:
I lost five total Instagram followers throughout the eight-week span.
My average Facebook like average was one.
Marketing Analysis
Trends of followers: In September I gained 118 followers, in October I only gained 7 followers, and in November I lost instead of gained followers.
Throughout the eight weeks, I tried to differentiate myself from other people within my niche was focusing on the college student aspect of cooking. Sometimes I cook for my 8 friends, sometimes I cook for me, sometimes I want something quick, other times I want to work through ingredients. It touched directly into the inconsistency that is a college student (speaking from experience as one).
Biggest Weekly Changes
Over the eight weeks, the biggest change was the decrease in likes on Instagram. My first post on Instagram had 62 likes, then by the end of the eight weeks my last two posts only had three likes. The biggest change was from week one to two, 62 likes to 15. I think this change was because of the lack of extra hype after week one. My close friends were people who were liking the posts and by week eight, they stopped looking at my posts. I also stopped engaging as much due to burn out.
What would Meg say/do?
What worked well in your your promotional campaign and why?
I think that keeping a common brand on my account helped with the visual appearance of the account. I think something that also worked was posting recipes from the entry that week. Though I did not begin doing that, I realized how much cohesiveness it brought to my account.
What did not work well and why?
Something that did nork well was not using a variety of hashtags throughout the eight-week span. I did not get a lot of engagement outside of my network and could have spanned outside of my followers.
What was your best IG message? Why? '
My best message on my Instagram was Kitchen must haves. Though it does not have the most likes or comments, it is one of my favorites. The graphic aligned directly with the entry for the week, and people really liked the entry and post.
What are you most proud of on your second platform? Why?
I am most proud that I did not give up on my second platform. From the beginning, I was not getting a lot of engagement no matter what I did. Some of my classmates just chose not to post, but I stuck to it to share my love of food.
Which platform do you believe was more successful? Why?
I think that Instagram was the most successful platform. On that platform, I was getting views, likes, comments, etc. Whereas on Facebook, I was lucky to get in the algorithm of even my 54-year-old aunt. Instagram was also easier to track analytics on and track my progression.
What would you do differently in the future?
If I had to go back and do something differently, it would be to not use Facebook groups as my second platform. There was not a way to track posts, and Facebook is an inaccessible platform that does not make posts easy to see. I would choose something with analytics and easier way to look at posts like TikTok or X.
