During the last five years, there have been many renovations to the Eastwood Nature area. Several community organizations, businesses and individuals were instrumental in rebuilding the Native American Plank House, drumming circle and learning station benches. Additionally, informational kiosks were placed along the trail. Thank you to the Cow Creek Seven Feathers Foundation, Keller Lumber, Lone Rock Timber, One Source Veteran's Service, Chadwick House and Eagle Scouts Aaron Olson and Chris Winters. Situated on Deer Creek in East Roseburg is a nature area which includes a fish hatchery, a pond, a Ponderosa Pine forest and Native American Plank House. The Eastwood Nature Trail is approximately one mile in a circular path that is a flat, easy walk. Side trails lead up to overlooks and additional learning opportunities. In addition to providing Eastwood students with an on-site learning lab, the area is used to educate students throughout the school district.
Note: The trail is open to the public with the exception of school hours (Monday-Friday 8:00-4:00).
