All boys who are planning on playing in the spring are strongly encouraged to participate in other Eastview High School sports as a way to grow your athleticism, build connections, and improve your mental competitive capacity.
Outside of playing sports at Eastview, below there are three different training opportunities (and another good idea) this fall and winter to prepare for season:
SUPER GROUP!! Register online and come workout with other Lightning VB guys form 2:40-4:15 pm on Monday/Tuesday/Thursday!
OPEN GYMS: We have instructional open gyms over the fall and winter before we get to tryouts. Checkout the calendar or our parent square group calendar (EVBVB Off-Season).
"CLUB" (Junior Olympic or "JO") VOLLEYBALL: Several boys have participated in off-season club teams to raise their skills, gain competitive experience, and have some fun. There are many different programs in the metro area, as well as a Lightning Juniors program. No one is required to play this season to participate in the spring! It's just another opportunity for boys who are interested. Check out the links below to learn more.
Watch some good volleyball! Many mens' college programs and international teams post their matches online...watching good volleyball helps you get better faster! Search YouTube for USA, NCAA, or NAIA matches.
If you are new to volleyball and want to play and have questions, contact Coach Dehnel...
Lightning Volleyball offers teams in the 12, 14, 16, and 18-and-under ages.
EVAA in house programs (Little Bolts and Bolt Squad) offer introductory teams/clinics for boys in grades K-6. Check out the links below.
Some larger clubs who aren't affiliated with a specific school offer programs that will include some local competition, but also midwest and national travel programs. Here are some of the programs available in the Twin Cities area. We have had several boys play at Northern Lights and a few boys play at Minnesota Select over the past few seasons.
