Officers (President or Co-Presidents, Vice President or Co-Vice Presidents, and Secretary) are elected each year at the May General Business Meeting by ballot vote. If there is only one candidate for a position, that person may be elected by a voice vote instead.
Newly elected officers begin their roles on July 1 and serve a two-year term. No one may serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position.
The Treasurer is appointed by the Executive Board. The appointment is reviewed and approved each year at the May General Business Meeting. There is no term limit for the Treasurer position.
PTO President
Preside over all General Business, Executive Board, and Executive Committee meetings
Prepare meeting agendas in collaboration with the executive board and school administration
Provide overall leadership and direction for the PTO
Coordinate the work of officers and committees to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission
Serve as primary liaison between the PTO and school administration
Oversee and support all PTO programs, events, and fundraising activities
Ensure compliance with bylaws, policies, and state and federal tax regulations
Sign contracts, authorizations, and official documents on behalf of the PTO
Facilitate executive board meetings and strategic planning efforts
Represent the PTO at school and community functions
Ensure smooth officer transitions and support leadership development
PTO Vice President
Assist the President in carrying out leadership responsibilities
Preside over meetings in the absence of the President
Assume the office of President in the event of resignation or vacancy
Serve as Program Chairperson and oversee planning of PTO programs and events
Support committee chairs and provide guidance as needed
Help coordinate volunteers and event logistics
Participate in executive board and planning meetings
Perform additional duties as assigned by the President or outlined in the bylaws
Support communication efforts between committees, board members, and school administration
