Welcome to “CHINA UNIVERSITY LEVEL EDE SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR”
This is an update of the previously published invitation for application on the Ministry of Education and Sports” (MOES) website of the “CHINA UNIVERSITY LEVEL EDE SCHOLARSHIP FOR2024/2025 ACADEMIC YEAR”, please read this update in conjunction with it.
With the process of admission, many slots are taken by successful applicants, and some programs are also closed for reason of approaching the semester starting date in September 2024.
We hereby update the scholarship list with current slots available for application. At the same time, a more detailed guidance and a list of FAQs will be updated to facilitate applicants better understanding the program and the application procedure. It will serve as a road map to show how applicants can work together with the EDE team to achieve scholarship acceptance successfully.
Our main Kamala admission office in Luzira will be closed by Monday 8th July, our office in Nakasiro will continue open for consultation and post-admission service for successful applicants. The Ugandan admission team Mr. Nelson Namanya and Miss. Ester Muhessi will continue working together with you in Kampala. They will be helping our successful applicants in person with international posts (such as the letter of admission, J20 visa form) receiving and delivery, visa interview rehearsal, pre-departure orientation etc.
The Admission team members from China, Mrs Xiaoyu Wang, Mr. Roger Hu & Miss. Ivy Wang will continue to consult for you from Beijing, China. We can be reached through our working WhatsApp at +256 753264054 by text messages, audio or video conversation from 8am-1pm Kampala time (for reason of time difference). We will also receive the admitted applicants in China for airport pick-up, bank account and sim card guidance upon request.
The main admission office will be re-opened during March to July 2025 for next intake. The Chinese admission team will be in Kampala for applicants applying 2025/2026 academic year.

Application Procedure
Step 1: Pre-qualification
Criteria: academic and financial qualification.
Evaluation credential: Online pre-qualification form and education records attached.
Step-2: Education consultation contract:
Successful applicants passed the pre-qualification will enter into contracts with EDE for taking the scholarship program service of studying in China.
Step-3: Admission committee evaluation
Criteria: academic, financial and comprehensive qualification.
Evaluation method: Application documents of academic results and financial statement. Online interviews if applicable.
Step- 4: Admission and scholarship granting
Letters of admission and Form JW202 for students’ visa application will be issued to applicants who have successfully passed Admission Committee evaluation.

Q-1：Where can I find the updated list of scholarship programs and online prequalification application form?
1. Q-2: How does the scholarship work?
The EDE scholarship programs are merit-based, not on the basis of need as many applicants reckon, unfortunately. Therefore, the qualification principle is that better academic outcomes enable better scholarship coverage. Applicants shall choose the appropriate options and level of scholarship carefully that corresponds to academic results to get a better chance of admission.
Q-3 Why is a pre-qualification needed before the final evaluation?
Because of the large number of scholarship slots which are of different academic levels, multiple study subjects/majors, and a variety of coverage/amounts with different academic and financial requirements, it is a challenging task for applicants to identify a suitable program that they are qualified academically and financially. With the pre-qualification procedure, it will enable the applicants to narrow down the appreciate programs to apply to.
Q-3 Why haven’t I got a feedback after submitting the pre-qualification form?
We try our best to get back to applicants within 1-2 days after receiving the pre-qualification form, if you haven’t received a feedback after 3 days, it may be because you didn’t satisfy the qualification criteria due to one or multiple of the following three reasons.
1. ) Your academic results did not qualify for any scholarship in the subjects you plan to study in China. For example, when a UACE 15 student applying for MBBS scholarship, said student will be disqualified because among all the MBBS scholarships of this intake, the lowest threshold is UACE 16. However, if the same UACE 15 student, applies for civil engineering, the student is going to be qualified academically and be allocated to all programs he is eligible for.
2. ) Those who become academically qualified from the previous stage, will proceed to financial evaluation by the system. If the budget input of the applicant is higher than the self-fund requirements for the scholarships he has qualified for. (The sum for each program is fixed and will be shared in the offers for qualified applicants.) then he/she passes the pre-qualification. Applicants will receive notice of shortlisting by the system.
3. ) Another scenario is that the applied slots have all been taken, because of the admission season is approaching its end.
We appreciate the applicants’ understanding for not being able to notice unqualified applicants for reason of the overwhelming number of applications. Thank you.
Q-4: What costs will scholarships cover?
A:
1. The Scholarship covers only those costs that happen inside China. e.g. cost of tuition and/or accommodation, The content of coverage is clearly specified in the List of scholarships for each program. Please note any cost does not specially included in the list, is not covered by the scholarship and will need to be paid by the applicant.
2. The scholarship does not cover any cost outside China. e.g. Air ticket to China, admission & placement fee, visa fees etc, which need to be paid by your self funds.
Q-5: In the list of scholarships, some scholarships indicate the cost with a
“-“ amount, what does this mean?
This happens when total scholarship amount is more than total cost amount. For example. One of the scholarship coverage indicates:
Master's degree of International business 2 years in English
Total scholarship amount 2 years: UGX72 million
Total cost 2 years without scholarship: UGX47,373,000 ( including tuition accommodation, food and personal expenses)
Total cost 2 years with scholarship: = - UGX24.6million ( including tuition accommodation, food and personal expenses)
(Total cost 2 years with scholarship: = - UGX24.6million) It means that the total scholarship amount is more than the total cost without scholarship by UGX24.6 million
Q-5 Why is the applicant’s self-funding qualification important?
EDE and the sponsor universities work together to endeavour to provide not only great opportunities of study but also successful education results. A sufficient self-funding budget is an essential factor for students to be able to concentrate on their studies and enjoy a pleasant experience of study life in China. This is why an appropriate self-fund budget is an important consideration as well as academic results to qualify the program.
Q-6: Where will self funds budget be needed?
A: Under the EDE scholarship program, your study in China will be financed jointly by scholarship coverage and your self funds. For example: One of the Bachelor’s degree scholarships, covers 100% of tuition & 100% of on-campus accommodation cost. It means except for the tuition and accommodation costs, all other costs would need to be paid by the applicant with he/her self funds, including but not limited to: air ticket, visa costs, admission & placement fees, food & personal expenses in China etc. Estimations of self funds budget can be found at EDE website: www.eastdynedu.com for your reference.
Q-7 What if the certificate and test results of the highest education have not yet been issued by UNEB?
Please upload the testimonial from the school you graduated from the contents should include: The time, subjects and results of UACE you sat, your school performance during your senior years, date of graduation from the school.
Q-8 Is it possible to submit an online prequalification form multiple times?
A: Multiple submissions are not advisable because confusion would result in the system disabling your application process. Please do not send more than one form. If you need to make changes to your application form, please contact us on WhatsApp, EDE staff will need to change for you manually.
Q-9 what shall I do to catch up with the application deadline?
A: Because it is towards the end of September 2024 in-take, Interested applicants are advised to start applying for passport and “non-crime records” from the police authority. This will save time for document preparation.

Because of the large varieties of majors and options, applicants can contact EDE for more individualized information.
1. Applicants must have foreign nationality (Non-Chinese citizen), hold foreign passports, be friendly to China, and be in good health conditions.
2. Applicants shall have good academic performance, and have no violations of Chinese laws, regulations, and school rules.
3. All scholarships listed herein are granted on merit basis according to applicants’ academic outcomes and/or other outstanding performances before and after being admitted to the universities.
4. Eastern Dynasty Education sponsors “EDE excellent student scholarship” to assist the top achieving applicants who are in lack of self-funding by waiving part/full service fees.
5. The cost of food and personal expense are estimations based on investigations made by EDE and universities for reference purpose. Actual amount of cost will subject to individual factors and may vary and fluctuate.
