Holiday began a year-long series of kills targeting Gotham’s most powerful crime families, striking on or around holidays. The series of murders—nicknamed “The Long Halloween”—systematically dismantled the Falcone empire.
On Halloween, Gilda arranged a meeting with Johnny Vitti, a cousin of Alberto's who didn't hesitate to invite her in. Secretly in love with her, he retreated to his foamy bathtub for her to join him. A gunshot went through his belly.
On Thanksgiving, she invaded the Irish mob meeting—the Falcone henchmen he hired to investigate her—and carried out a massacre, killing five people.
On Christmas, Milo Grapa, Carmine's personal bodyguard, was murdered as a warning.
On New Year's and Valentine's Day, the Holiday did not attack, having accompanied Harvey to special events to celebrate his achievements and his war on crime.
On St. Patrick's Day, the victim was Frances Carbone, the driver. And on April Fool's Day, the chosen one was Joe Bandano, a traitor who sold information about his own family.
On Mother's Day, no one died; a mother had already been murdered.
On Father's Day, Alberto Falcone, a son for a son.
On Independence Day, Luigi Maroni, after what his son, Sal Maroni, did to Harvey in court.
On Roman Holiday, Carla Falcone, the Roman's sister, was a warning that the Holiday was approaching his last target.
On Halloween, while chaos took over the streets, thanks to the mass escape from Arkham City, a group of degenerates led by Harvey marched toward Carmine Falcone to usher in a new era that would spread throughout Gotham: the era of the insane. Harvey, now completely deranged and having believed he was the Holiday all along, ended the killer's bloody trail by killing the main target.
That same night, Batman visited Gilda in the early hours. He had solved the case, but there was no time. And as she erased the evidence of her crime, she promised Batman that she would never kill again, since the accomplice who took her humanity was no longer alive.
The Dark Knight took pity on Gilda's story and allowed her to leave Gotham unpunished.
The consequences left by The Long Halloween was the beggining of a new era in Gotham, as the fall of the main families opened space for the freaks to take control of the city.
