CATWOMAN (Earth-7)

Selina Kyle, known as Catwoman, is Gotham’s most elusive thief — a cunning and graceful burglar whose motives walk the line between self-interest and justice. Raised in hardship and skilled in survival from a young age, she carved out a life through high-profile thefts and dangerous liaisons. Though often at odds with the law and Gotham’s vigilantes, she thrives in the thrill of the chase, leaving both criminals and heroes guessing where her true loyalties lie.

Biography

Early Life

Selina Kyle’s life began under a cloud of secrecy and scandal. Her mother, Maria Kyle, was a Cuban immigrant working as a maid for Gotham crime boss Carmine Falcone. Falcone kept Maria as his mistress, and when she became pregnant with his child, the truth threatened to emerge. Before any legal action could proceed, Maria died under mysterious circumstances, giving birth to Selina at Memorial Hospital Thomas Elliot.

Orphaned and left to fend for herself, Selina grew up on Gotham’s streets. Her quick mind, agility, and fearlessness allowed her to survive by running big thefts and small robberies, honing the skills that would one day make her infamous.

Cat Burglar

Her career as a high-profile burglar took a major turn when she attempted to rob the mansion of local crime boss Rex Calabrese. Though caught by his security, Old Rex was captivated by her charm — despite being old enough to be her grandfather — and invited her to join him at his retreat in Italy. Selina, seeing the opportunity, accepted immediately.

Married to Rex Calabrese

Her time in Italy was short-lived. The arrival of a masked vigilante in Gotham disrupted Rex’s operations, forcing Selina to return home just two months later. By then, Rex had died — a death caused by an allergy to cats that Selina never knew about. She inherited his business, stepping into a more powerful but dangerous role.

Back to Gotham

Back in Gotham, Selina’s life became even more complicated. Though now a wealthy socialite, Selina couldn’t abandon the thrill of the hunt. She continued to operate as Catwoman, stealing not just for gain, but often to punish those she deemed corrupt or cruel, much like those who had wronged her mother.

Her activities inevitably drew the attention of Gotham’s Dark Knight. Batman sought justice; she sought the rush of the chase. They were opposites in method but similar in drive — both predators, both vigilant in their own way. Their encounters were laced with tension, control, and unspoken attraction. For Selina, being caught was never the fear — she sometimes sought it, turning rooftop pursuits into flirtatious duels.

Selina rarely hides from those who chase her; the thrill is part of her nature. Whether targeting wealthy elites, rival criminals, or drawing the attention of Batman, she plays her role with elegance and precision, forever walking the line between criminal and anti-hero.

Selina Wayne

At the beginning of the year, however, an indecent proposal comes from the Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne reveals himself as Batman and asks Selina Kyle to marry him. These are chaotic times in Gotham, but this is undoubtedly one of the things she never imagined could happen, and the local media thinks the same. The couple seems willing to change Gotham, combining their fortunes to propose social projects that will transform the city, while secretly fighting crime every night, united and motivated to wage war against the madness that has taken over Gotham.
