We are pleased to invite abstract submissions for the 3rd East Asian Pragmatics Conference (EAPC2026) to be held at Ajou University in Suwon, South Korea. In an era where digitalization and interdisciplinary research are reshaping the humanities, this conference seeks to explore the evolving interfaces of pragmatic inquiry in East Asian contexts. We welcome contributions that investigate how meaning is constructed, negotiated, and interpreted in everyday, institutional, and mediated communication across the region. By highlighting the growing intersections between traditional humanistic approaches and emerging digital methodologies, this conference aims to create a space for collaboration among scholars engaging in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research in pragmatics and related fields.

- Pragmatic strategies in East Asian languages and cultures
- Cross-cultural and intercultural pragmatics in East Asia
- Language, identity, and politeness across East Asian contexts
- Discourse and cognition in interaction
- Multimodal communication in digital and social media
- Practical applications of English linguistics in East Asia
- Pragmatics of English as a lingua franca in East Asia
- Language ideology and pragmatic norms in contemporary East Asia
- Language change and pragmatic variation across time and space
- Digital and computational approaches in the humanities
