CSUN Department of Geological Sciences SEM User Rates 2024-25
We would appreciate the opportunity to be co-authors on any publications that result from data collected in the CSUN Dept. of Geological Sciences’ SEM lab.
We ask that visiting external student users are accompanied by their research advisor for the initial data collection to adequately plan the goals of the data collection.
FEI Quanta 600 tungsten gun SEM user rates
User fees for imaging (BSE, SE, CL) and EDS analysis
$100/hour assisted commercial rate
$50/hour assisted external academic users
$20/hour assisted California State University (CSU) system users
TESCAN MIRA4 field emission gun SEM user rates
The user fees are as specified in our NSF MRI grant and tiered in the following categories:
$200/hour assisted commercial rate for external industry users
$100/hour assisted external academic users from non-CSU, MSI, PUI, or MS-granting institutions
$30/hour assisted California State University system users and/or users from MSIs, PUIs, or MS-granting (i.e., non-Ph.D.-granting) institutions
CSU users and users from other non-R1 institutions without grant funding will be considered for the opportunity to collect seed data (gratis) upon submission of a short application (a paragraph, no longer than 1 page) describing the goals of the work, an estimate of the hours needed, and any declined, pending, or planned proposals in support of the full cost of the work. The intention is to provide an opportunity for seed data collection with the understanding that future grants will fully support the work. Please contact the lab director (Dr. Miranda) by email to inquire about this option.
