Why Tutoring?
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 was a U.S. Act of Congress that reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act; it included Title I provisions applying to disadvantaged students. While this act seemed to help students progress despite shortcomings and deficits, parents have been left out of the loop of how deeply this act has affected students all around the globe. Have you checked out the global literacy rate lately? The global literacy rate currently is 86%, meaning 774 million people worldwide cannot read or write. We can see the evidence of this through the mental health crisis and poverty lines we face in today's society. How do these statistics affect the classroom? If a student can not read or write by third grade, this student is projected to drop out of school, become incarcerated, addicted to drugs, or face an early death. Students who perform more than two or more grade levels below are projected to be incarcerated, addicted to drugs, or dead by their 18th birthday. The National report card reveals that basic math and reading skills are at their lowest levels due to the pandemic, financial strain, and trauma. With the increasing teacher shortage, most students are not receiving the full support needed to thrive as a scholar. Scholars who perform on grade level or above are not challenged. This leaves them unmotivated or bored which leads to behavioral problems. Students who perform below grade level are given support without expectation of growth leaving them insecure and placed in the system as a payment plan versus a potential record breaker. EIFT strives to boost your child's confidence while aiding them in an effective finish for a stabilized and promising start to their future careers.
