Upcoming workshop
We are pleased to offer a free virtual workshop titled “Teaching Introductory Statistics Online” which will be conducted on Fridays, November 1 and November 8, from 3-4pm ET (12-1pm PT). Workshop presenters will be Anelise Sabbag and Beth Chance (Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo), Jennifer McNally and Laura Callis (Curry College).
These workshop sessions will offer suggestions and support for teaching online introductory statistics courses in accordance with GAISE recommendations. Both synchronous and asynchronous formats will be addressed. The first session (Fri Nov 1) will focus on modifying face-to-face statistical activities for online courses, paying attention to good assessment questions, immediate feedback, and helpful resources to students. The second session (Fri Nov 8) will concentrate on how instructors can support and encourage students to interact and collaborate with each other and the instructor (e.g. use of collaborative keys and discussion forums).
These workshop sessions are free, but participants need to register in advance here: workshop registration link.
A Zoom link for the workshop sessions will be sent to those who have registered a few days in advance. Recordings of these workshop sessions will be posted afterward.
