Summary of Opportunity:
Become an EAPOST Scholar and receive personalized mentoring from leading statistics educators to support changes in your classroom teaching in spring 2026. Mentoring could involve (a) Content (e.g., adapt and implement a new module in your teaching), and/or (b) Pedagogy (e.g., online teaching; universal design for learning; GAISE; in-class student collaboration). As a scholar, you will access to free ready-to-use materials, personalized guidance, and a $250 stipend for your participation.
Program Details:
Indicate what kind of mentoring you would like to receive
a) Content Mentoring: Choose from
i) Introductory to Statistical Investigations (Wiley textbook)
ii) Intermediate Statistical Investigations (Wiley textbook),
iii) Free introductory investigations with biology contexts,
iv) Free online materials that Beth Chance has developed (Link 1, Link 2, Link 3),
v) Free introductory statistics lessons about diversity, equity, and justice topics developed by Laura Callis (Link), or
g) Other content/materials that our team has developed or is very familiar with
b) Teaching Pedagogy: Choose one or more from
i) Online teaching
ii) Universal Design for Learning
iii) Collaborative, student-led activities (e.g., lab assignments)
iv) General GAISE enhancements in your classrooms
In order to be eligible for the end of program stipend you should
Anticipate engaging with your mentor for at least 3 hours (or as determined by you and your mentor) during the spring 2026 term (January - April 2026) via 1-1 or group meetings, email discussion, etc. as determined by you and your mentor
Meeting other goals as determined by your mentor when assigned (e.g., implementing the content/pedagogical changes in your classroom in spring 2026; reading/engaging in professional development content); other deliverables (e.g., reflection on how the changes went; teachers notes/guide; modified class activity)
