I did earned a certificate for cyber training. In this project, I had to find two articles relating to cyber security in the news. I provided information about each article and linked to them.
I learned what malware, ransomware, and phishing is all about. I learned that certain organizations are required to have certain security against cyber attacks. I learned how easy it is to fall victim to a cyber attack. I learned how to use Google News.
In this article, it describes how the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR), settled a case against the Lafourche Medical Group. This group fell victim to a phishing attack that led to the hackers gaining access to personal medical records of patients. OCR found that the group didn't have any risk analysis to help find threats or vulnerabilities in their system. They also didn't have any procedures to protect against cybersecurity attacks. The medical group had to pay OCR, have their staff members receive training on privacy and security and implement cybersecurity measures to protect against any cyber attacks and keep private health information safe.

The article talks about a trojan, called "Brokewell," in Android devices that can cause mobile banking malware and give the attackers control over the device. The malware can also have spyware capabilities. The malware can effect people with android phones who click on fake application updates. Anyone who has Google Play applications should be safe from the malware since it automatically has Google Play Protect. Its always a good idea to be cautious when it comes to popups or unexpected updates. Don't download something unless you're 100% sure you know what it is.
