Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education is the mode of education that use information and communications technology to support, enhance, and optimize the delivery of information. The system whereby teachers include technology to make life easier for the teachers and learning more better to the learners. So far the schools that do have technology improved better basically in Gauteng province. For the world that doesn’t yet exist is not an easy task for any teacher. Step back and look at that picture from a broad perspective. What are the critical 21st century skills every student needs to survive and succeed in our world? What abilities and traits will serve them in a time that’s changing and developing so rapidly?
ICTs can enhance the quality of education in several ways: by increasing learner motivation and engagement, by facilitating the acquisition of basic skills, and by enhancing teacher training. ICTs are also transformational tools which, when used appropriately, can promote the shift to a learner-centered environment.
My roles as an ICT specialist us to be the mediator or facilitator of learning using available technologies in innovative ways to cater for individual learner needs. Moreover, as ICT specialist i will help the school administration and management systems related to any ICT tool to use such as using SA MAMS etc. an innovative assessor and administrator using a variety of technologies to feed back into the teaching and learning process and making effective communication towards the school stake holders and the learners at large.

The 21st Century Education is about the use of ICT's to enhance the process of teaching and learning. Teachers in the era of 4IR should be equipped with technological skills in order for them to be able to be ideal teachers in the South African Education context.
