How to read a Topographic Map
What if Google maps or Apple maps crashed and suddenly you have no idea how to get to your destination? Did you know that maps in particularly topographic maps were used as tools way back then. Topographic maps are used to measure elevation. These maps are useful to know how to read incase technology ever fails you.
There is so much information within a topographic map. They show you so much like hill elevations, valleys and streams. A topographic map is a map that shows the shape of the land surface by the use of contour lines. Through the shaping and spacing of these contour lines in a topographic map you can find out so much about an area. Contour lines are lines that only exist on your map if its paper! The connecting contour lines throughout a map show a three dimensional information on a two dimensional map! (UF 2019)
