REFLECTION: I have expanded my knowledge because of these modules which are applicable in real life situations. The problems here are very helpful especially in the future or may be in the present where we invest our money in the bank and choose the interest that we want. It tackled here how important these interest our and our investment to each bank since it could help us in the future. Nonetheless, I got 3 mistakes here yet I got a perfect score in the summative exam because of the +5 incentives! Anyhow, the 3 mistakes I got here are somehow easy to solve yet I was in a panic to submit it as soon as possible. For the first mistake, I only solved for the simple interest in the problem and thought that it is already the answer because it was one of the choices of the exam. Unfortunately, I haven’t understood the problem quite well and had a panic answering the test. I’ve realized that I should take the exam as early as possible so not to repeat the mistake I’ve done and go back to each number to analyze it carefully. For the second mistake, honestly when I was reading the problem I was in a state of confusion and haven’t understood it quite well. I was confused on the formula since I forgot about it and was confused where I would get the interest in this problem. I’ve realized here that I should be taking the test in a good condition where I could confidently answer it all and I should be ready more than before in order to be not confused on it again. For the last mistake, I thought that the future value would be more than 5,000 pesos since it should have an interest when you invest in a bank yet I overlooked the problem and didn’t realize that there wasn’t an interest mentioned in the problem. So, in order to not repeat the mistake again, I should be able to read the problem more carefully and list the things mentioned in order to get the right answer.

Thus, there are a lot of things that I’ve learned this quarter and in this summative test that would completely help me in real life especially if I’m also in a struggle to solve the same problems mentioned in the test. I’ve also realized that I must understand, read and analyze the situation precisely to avoid having mistakes. Since, making a mistake in these problems would also affect and may cause misunderstanding to me in real life situations.

REFLECTION: This quarter mostly tackled about business mathematics in which the lessons are related to everyday life situations. There are many things I’ve learned in these lessons especially on how we can use these in the future or in the present real life situations. Upon knowing that it is really applicable in real life though it may be hard to solve some problems at first, it really motivated and inspired me to be fond of and be more interested in these lessons. It is applicable in a way where we purchase things and paying loans on it that has an interest rate depending on the period of time that was given. Nevertheless, I got four mistakes in this test which is more of because I have overlooked it and I somehow got mental blocked during the exam. Anyhow, for the first mistake in this test I have overlooked this question and thought that it could be either of the two choices since I forgot that the “not” word was also a logical connective word. I’ve realized that I should not forget these connective words since they are often used in compound propositions to connect two simple propositions. For the second mistake, I had a mental block in this problem since I also forgot what logically equivalent means and thought that it was just the negative or contrast of the exact statement yet logically equivalent actually means where the two statements have the same truth value. I’ve realized that having a mental block in the exam should be avoidable since it did affect me on how I have answered the test and I should also take a break as well as my brain to not overwork too much in reviewing. For the third mistake, I accidentally chose the wrong option and haven’t reviewed my answers which resulted for me to regret it at the end because it was really a pity it’s one point too yet I chose to move forward anyways and learned my mistake here. I’ve realized that I should double check my works if there’s a time left and not submit it as soon as possible since I still have time when I was taking it yet forgot to double check my answers on the problems of the test. For the last mistake I’ve done, I wasn’t familiar with the XOR logic and chose the OR option instead because I thought that the inclusive and exclusive disjunctions just have the same connective word yet I was wrong. I’ve learned and realized here that I should always research for the topic especially if it the logic has two types under because their connective words may be different.

Thus, the lessons this quarter are indeed applicable either for business or consumer loan. I’ve realized that the topics I’ve learned here are helpful and useful for our everyday real life situations especially when investing to banks or purchasing things. Moreover, I’ve also learned the different types of logic and how they differ from each other. To find the logical equivalence, you must apply the truth table too. Overall, I’ve learned a lot of relevant and important lessons that I can use in the future and in the present real life situations.
