Julia

To Julia

A feather is used to write – or fly!

But now I use it to say goodbye

A feather tickles, you make me smile

Can a feather dust the tears I cry?

If birds of a feather flock together

Can you go to Arizona – never?

Can a feather so light make my heavy heart

Lose some weight when we’re apart?

To tell me your friendship you won’t zap

Would put a feather in my cap!

My 11 year old Polish neighbor, Julia, is moving to Arizona; we took her to Magic Waters waterpark, and gave her a “Friendship Feather”.

I wrote this poem to go with the Friendship Feather.
