For Luna
Fiery orb sends heat and light
And hugs the race with warm delight
Photons making all things right
Yes, all is well – until the night!
The rays of sun
Don’t wrap around
At night its black;
Light can’t be found.
Blinded eyes in blackened sphere
Infecting hearts and lives with fear
Darkened umbras far and near
Can rays of Heaven reappear?
Prince of Darkness, Prince of Earth
Tightening down his surly noose
Confident to blanket mirth
With occultations of his curse.
What diamond ring its crescent shows?
What is this light which grows and grows?
A circled warrior darkness mows
With coat of Sun, its light bestows.
No victory now for nighttime shark
Luna brings her lightning spark
And Kingly Sun can His grace hark
As moon brings Faith, dissolving dark.
