Forward at Faith Frequently Asked Questions
Please reach out the church office with additional questions or to have conversation about the details of the campaign. We are here to help provide the most accurate information we can regarding the ministry of the church and the purpose & goals of the campaign.
Please also be aware that we will update this list as questions arise or as needed throughout the campaign.
Q. Is an up-front lump contribution preferred over a contribution spread out over the 3-year period?
A. While the contribution schedule is entirely up to the giver; because of significant and urgent costs of roof and HVAX repairs needed in 2026, any contributions made in 2026 will minimize or avoid the need to take out loans and pay interest.
Q. How will financial commitments be kept private?
A. Forward at Faith's commitments will be managed with the same level of confidentiality and care as all contributions at Faith Alive. Only a select few have access to individual numbers to ensure the offering will be applied to the correct donor.
Q. When is the deadline for turning in commitment cards for the Capital Campaign?
A. We would like to receive commitment cards by the 4th week in April. New members and others who would like to join in this campaign at a later date are always welcome. Commitment cards will be available in the Church office.
Q. How will the Capital Campaign giving be differentiated from regular offerings?
A. General giving covers the usual expenses throughout the calendar year. On the other hand, Forward at Faith giving is allocated specifically for the identified purposes and is not meant to replace general giving. Please indicate on your gift which category it should be applied to.
Q. How can children and youth as individuals and groups commit to support the Capital Campaign?
A. Children and Youth are invited to participate in Forward at Faith and will be given the opportunity through JAM and Revive. They can also be included in the family decision to participate in the campaign. It's a great conversation for parents to have with their children and an opportunity to share your family values around generosity.
Q. Can Capital Campaign contributions be given electronically?
A. Yes, you can use any of our current giving options, just be sure to specify your intended designation by using the dropdown option in the designation field or indicating it in the notes of your giving, depending on the form of electronic giving. [ie: click here to give to the campaign, VENMO@faithalivehuron, text the word "give" to 605.352.8604, or www.faithalivehuron.org]
Q. What if I am unable to meet my Capital Campaign commitment?
A. As noted on the commitment card, your commitment is not binding if your financial situation changes. While Faith Alive will provide receipts for actual giving, you will not receive a bill or invoice.
Q. What are the financial goals of the Capital Campaign?
A. We hope to secure $1,750,000 in pledges for immediate church maintenance and repairs, future maintenance needs, and future ministry opportunities. In addition to that financial goal, we pray that every one of our church family can participate and experience the blessing of joyous generosity.
Q. What are the Future Ministry Opportunities that are included in the Campaign financial goal?
A. We do not know exactly what God will bring. It may be another wave of young families. It may be a new outreach opportunity. It may be leaders raised up from within our own congregation. We cannot define every detail, but we can prepare. God has never refined a people without a purpose. When He opens a door, we don’t want to scramble. We want to step through it resourced, unified, expectant, and ready.
Q. How do I begin determining how much I should give?
A. Faith Alive's commitment is to provide you with the information and time so you can pray and plan about your financial commitment. Most find their commitments come from a mix of giving from assets, current cash flow and future additional income such as raises, bonuses, and distributions.
Q. Why use commitment cards?
A. Commitment cards serve as a tool to help leadership plan as they determine the timing and scope of projects. Notice we don't ask for a “signature” - just your name. Without this tool, leadership would need to work on an actual cash-on-hand basis for these projects. [Click here to fill out a pledge card]
Q. Of the three funding needs, as outlined in the capital campaign materials, can a person designate their commitment to only one or two of those specific needs?
A. Committed funds are designated for the Capital Campaign in general and not to specific parts of it. As funds are received, the Faith Alive Leadership Board will approve their use to address the Church's most critical needs. In the short term, the urgently needed roof and HVAC repairs will be first priority.
