As a Baldwin Park resident for over thirty years, an educator for over twenty-nine years, and a past elected and appointed member of the Board of Education, my goal is to continue to improve our public schools and increase student achievement for all.
I believe all our children deserve a safe and quality education that includes extracurricular activities and prepares them for a demanding future, either in college or the workforce.
Promote vocational careers alongside college-Provide real opportunties for students who chooose skilled trades and technical careers, not just traditional college paths.
Challenge and support every student- Lead our District so all students, regardless of ability level, are prepared for their next step in life.
Listen to and collaborate with administrators, teachers and staff- sit down with administrators, teachers, and staff, hear their concerns, and help them meet the needs of all students.
Build true partnerships with parents-work together to ensure parent involvement is welcomed and valued in our schools.
Focus on fiscal responsibility-stop wasteful spending, leverage existing resources wisely, and invest savings back into student programs and extracurricular activities.
Improve academic performance-ensure test scores increase and students perform at grade level in reading and math at every school.
Ensure transparency and accountability-communicate openingly with parentand the community, even when deliverying difficult news, with plenty of advance notice.
