Dear Baldwin Park Friends and Neighbors,
In case we haven't met yet, let me introduce myself. My name is Diana Miranda-Dzib, and I am running for re-election to the BPUSD board.
I have been a Baldwin Park resident for over 35 years and began my education at Charles Bursch Elementary School. As an adult, my entire career has been focused on improving public education for students of all abilities.
Since 2004, I have served as the High School Programs Coordinator in the School of Continuing Education, Adult Basic Education Department at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC). Before working at Mt. SAC, I was employed by the Los Angeles County Office of Education as a certificated substitute teacher, teaching math and science to improve student achievement among probation youth.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California, as well as a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Juris Doctorate. In addition, I earned a certificate in Teaching Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Reading Certificate from USC Rossier School of Education.
I also volunteer through the Los Angeles Superior Court as a surrogate and advocate for the rights of special education students within the juvenile justice and foster care systems.
I have been married to my husband Luis for over twenty-seven years and we have one son, Eric, who graduated from Whittier College and USC, with a Masters in Accounting.
