Biography

Dear Baldwin Park Friends and Neighbors,

In case we haven't met yet, let me introduce myself.  My name is Diana Miranda-Dzib, and I am running  to be elected to the  BPUSD board.

I have been a Baldwin Park resident for over 36 years and began my education at Charles Bursch Elementary School. As an adult, my entire career has been focused on improving public education for students of all abilities.

Since 2004, I have served as the High School Programs Coordinator in the Adult Basic Education Department within the School of Continuing Education at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC). Prior to joining Mt. SAC, I worked as a certificated substitute teacher for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, teaching math and science to probation youth.

I hold a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Southern California, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction and a Juris Doctor.  Additionally, I earned certificates in Teaching Students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders from UCLA and Reading from the USC Rossier School of Education  

Additionally, I served as a court-appointed surrogate and advocate through the Los Angeles Superior Court, protecting the educational rights of special education students in the foster care and juvenile justice systems.

My husband Luis and I have been married for over twenty-nine years, and our son, Eric, graduated from Whittier College before earning his master's degree in accounting at USC!
