Dylan Dominick Kamm
Recent graduate (2023) with a degree in Computing for Games from Falmouth University. Experienced in Unity and C#. Eager to apply my knowledge of game mechanics and UX & UI design to create captivating games in a passionate and imaginative game development studio.
I am self-motivated, co-operative, collaborative and like to get things done.
In my spare time I write and self-publish fantasy novels online.
Experienced the full game development life cycle in two completed games using Unity and C# as part of a multi-skilled game development team in an industry style studio environment. This has led to a special interest in UX and UI design improvements and implementing novel game play mechanics.
For my final year project in 2023, I took a deep dive into the UX and UI of menu selection screens with a view to increasing user engagement at the character selection stage as well as reviewing new technologies that might assist improvements.
I’ve co-developed three games using Unity and C# (two to completion) and have built up basic experience in AI programming, A* pathfinding, behaviour trees and shader graphs.
I self-publish fantasy novels online and use my writing passion to produce lore for both characters and worlds. I’m detail driven when it comes to game play ideas and keep notes so story lines can remain accurate and consistent and meet player expectations. This helps when reviewing novel game play ideas and how well suited they are to a game.
Through the completion of tasks so far and working with multidisciplinary teams, I feel I have a realistic understanding how long things can take. I enjoy the process of working in collaboration with artists, animators, designers and other programmers to effectively bring to life the ideas and game play mechanics.
Although naturally introverted I find the gaming world and industry compelling and there is always much to talk about. I draw on logic and research to make justifications when ideas are being generated.
