Dynamic Interactive Soft Machines Laboratory
We aim to design and build soft machines that go beyond physical interactions.
Our goal is to develop soft-robot-based machines enabling safe and dynamic physical interaction between humans, robots, and environments. DyISM Lab is interested in designing soft robotic mechanisms for interactions, including origami-inspired structures, soft material printing, mechanisms for energy storage and release, and mechanisms utilizing the unique properties of soft/compliant materials.Â
Currently, as part of the Center for Humanoid Research at KIST, our group is concentrating on the design of soft-robot-based mechanisms that provide safety and functional advantages when humanoids physically interact with people and environment.
