Welcome to the team! We’re so excited for you to join our community of caring adults who make the Club a safe and inspiring place for kids to thrive.
Before you begin volunteering, you’ll go through an onboarding process designed to set you up for success. This includes an orientation, background screening, references and a review of our child-safety policies. These steps help ensure every volunteer is confident in their role and every child stays safe and supported.
Orientation Session – Your First Step
Before anything else, we invite all applicants to attend an orientation session. This is where you’ll get to know our mission, youth-safety standards, and volunteer expectations.
Child Abuse Prevention Training – Required for All Volunteers
After orientation, you’ll receive instructions to complete a short online Child Abuse Prevention training. This training is provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of America and equips you to recognize, prevent, and respond to safety concerns. (Takes about 20–30 minutes to complete.)
Background Check & References – After Orientation
Once you’ve attended orientation and confirmed your commitment, we’ll send process your background check and reach out to your references. We only start this step after orientation to make sure everyone who proceeds is ready to volunteer.
Final Approval & Start Date
After your background check clears and references are in, we’ll officially activate you as a volunteer and help you sign up for shifts or programs.
