Welcome to the Imaging & AI Lab at King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, led by Dr. Durgesh Kumar Dwivedi, Additional Professor of Radiodiagnosis. Our research lab pioneers advanced quantitative MRI, radiomics, AI, deep learning, and quantum machine learning (ML) for non-invasive diagnostics in oncology (prostate cancer, kidney cancer, glioma) and neurological disorders (TBI, dementia). We mentor students at all levels, fostering cutting-edge research and clinical translation.
Join us to explore innovative imaging solutions!
• Datasets:
Access public MRI datasets for research:
o TCIA PROSTATE-MRI (prostate cancer, 346 cases). https://www.cancerimagingarchive.net/collection/prostatex/
o UPENN-GBM/BraTS (brain tumor dataset). https://www.med.upenn.edu/cbica/brats2020/data.html
o IXI Dataset (healthy brain). https://brain-development.org/ixi-dataset/
• Tools:
Guides for MRI analysis software (e.g., MRtrix3, FSL, FreeSurfer, DSI Studio, LC Model). Contact us for setup tips on
macOS/Linux.
Congratulations to my PhD student, Siddharth Singh, for receiving an award at ISMRM 2025!
Secured ₹2.9 Cr in grants (ICMR, ANRF) for AI/ML and MRI research (2024-2027).
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with high academic productivity at different levels (Ph.D. and Research Assistant positions).
Currently, we are offering multiple opportunities at the JRF/SRF/PhD levels, projects funded by the ICMR, SERB, and CST. We are looking for a Junior Research fellow/SRF/PhD position to work on two large projects involving Hybrid Multidimensional MRI in Prostate Cancer and advanced MRI and DTI methods in Traumatic Brain Injury (~Rs 30 million grant).
JRF/SRF/RA/Postdoctoral fellow/Ph.D. candidates should complete this form prior to the interview:

Students interested in MR imaging, cancer imaging, image processing, translational research, and AI are welcome to apply. Students from the background of Masters in Life Sciences, M.Tech. (CS, Biomedical Engineer, etc), or Masters in Physics or Mathematics are also encouraged to apply. A good background in programming and mathematics is a plus.
Interested applicants are invited to send a cover letter describing their research interests and experiences, an up-to-date CV, and the names and contact information of two references (into one PDF) to:
Dr. Durgesh K. Dwivedi (durgeshdwivedi@kgmcindia.edu; durgeshdwivedi@gmail.com).
We look forward to supporting your journey in medical imaging and AI research!
