Durgesh K. Dwivedi (DOB: May 1, 1982) is a Professor (J. Gr.) (Additional Professor) in the Department of Radiodiagnosis, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, UP, India. He joined the KGMU as a Lecturer in 2013. His primary fields of interest are Biomedical magnetic resonance techniques, radiogenomics & metabolomics, quantitative MRI and machine learning, MR Spectroscopy, and ASL techniques in various cancer imaging, 68Ga-DOTA-peptide receptor PET/CT imaging, and he has published extensively in these areas.
Dr. Dwivedi studied Physics & Electronics as an undergrad before transitioning into imaging sciences. He holds a Masters in Physics & M.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine from AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. Dwivedi obtained his Ph.D. in NMR & MRI from the renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India in Prof. N.R. Jagannathan's lab.

This is one of the largest global gatherings of radiologists and MRI scientists. In addition to co-organizing an international seminar at IIT Kanpur, organizing a national conference at KGMU, and various CMEs, he has mentored many postgraduate/PhD students and delivered over 40 invited talks and oral presentations at national and international conferences.
He holds memberships in several international societies, such as the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and is a life member of numerous national societies, including the ISMRM Indian Chapter, ISPR, NMRS, IBS, SNMI, among others.
Furthermore, he serves on multiple technical expert committees for KGMU, Lucknow, and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, India.
Dr. Dwivedi has been the recipient of various extramural grants, serving as an independent Principal Investigator (PI) for DST-SERB, CST, ICMR, etc., and as a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on several grants.
Dr. Dwivedi's contribution to science:
Involved in leading research in developing Hybrid multidimensional MRI in prostate cancer (UChicago, Chicago, IL, USA).
Setting up research on developing Hybrid multidimensional MRI in prostate cancer for the first time in India (in collaboration with UChicago and AIIMS, New Delhi).
Ours is the first group to initiate radiogenomics using 3D-printed patient-specific tumor mold in kidney tumors in the USA (UTSW, Dallas, TX, USA).
Conducted leading research in India (AIIMS, New Delhi) on the role of pre-biopsy multiparametric MRI in prostate cancer.
Dr. Dwivedi's research prowess is evident through his prolific publication record, with numerous articles appearing in esteemed peer-reviewed journals such as Radiology (Impact Factor 29.6, the world's top Radiology journal), Clinical Cancer Research (Impact Factor 13.8), Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, JCI Insight, NMR Biomedicine, American Journal of Neuroradiology, Urology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Academic Radiology, and many others. He has also presented over 35 conference proceedings.
