Financial Aid payments should continue as normal
For FWS Students:
For the period of the college’s closure, Federal Work-Study (FWS ) program provides the following guidance:
• Students should enter scheduled hours in WTE as long as it does not exceed their allotted FWS award amount.
• FWS do not have to work their scheduled hours and will still be paid for scheduled hours as long as they have remaining FWS dollars awarded.
• Hours entered should not exceed the hours for which the student was hired to work.
• Scheduled hours entered should consistent with hours the student has been working during the semester and not overlap with scheduled class time per federal regulation.

What if I dropped a course and got an excused W so then I was less than full-time?
The financial aid could be reduced. The Pell grant is paid based on the amount of units a student is enrolled in. Full time (12 units) gives a student the full amount. Anything less than 12 and the Pell grant will be prorated depending on the number of units.
Update: Students who drop units due to COVID-19 emergency will have those units excluded from Pell grant eligibility formula, the units will also be excluded for Standard Academic Progress and they will not need to pay back any funds.
The Promise Grant is unaffected by units. A student can take as little as 3 units and still receive the Promise Grant.
First Time + Full Time = Free Tuition
FT3 is a two-year program, so you may be eligible to receive free tuition through the end of your second academic year of college. An "academic year" is defined as a fall term followed by a spring term.
Students who were eligible for FT3 will be granted a waiver from the district if they are unable to meet the 12 unit requirement semester. Meaning students who complete less than 12 units this semester but meet all other requirements will still receive FT3 funding this semester AND will still be considered eligible for FT3 in Fall 2020.

Please apply for an emergency grant via this site: https://www.dvc.edu/basic-needs/covid-19-emergency-grant.html
The COVID-19 Emergency Grant is a one-time $500 grant for currently enrolled DVC students who are facing unexpected expenses as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to remote classes and services. Funding is limited and is subject to the rules and eligibility requirements found in Section 18004 of the CARES Act and in subsequent notice(s) from the United States Department of Education.
Due to limited funding, submission of either application does not guarantee that you will receive a grant. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until funds are exhausted. We anticipate a large influx of applications and will do our best to process the applications in a timely manner.
Applicants will be notified of the status of their application via InSite email within the next 14-21 days. To expedite the process, we recommend you set up your disbursement option through Bank Mobile now, in the event that you are awarded the emergency funds.
