HMH AND IXL ACCESS
I sent home HMH and IXL access information with the students this Friday. You will find it glued in their Daily Planner. The students independently logged in on Friday for final check. They were easily able to do so. I would appreciate it if you would set these two platforms up in the device(s) that your student will use at home for their easy access.
IXL: to access, go to ixl.com and enter their user name and password.
HMH: to access, go to https://hmhco.com/ui/login/ . Country --> United States/ State --> Illinois/ District or School --> Daarul Uloom (It would show up as you type 'Daarul' and then you can you can click on the popped up option.) / Click continue.
IXL
IXL is a very important tool that we use to reinforce academic concepts. In order to check if your student has done their work or how did they perform, you may use the following steps. Please know that your student gets the grade for the assigned IXL only when done in the current school year.
In order to check if if your student did the work, here's what you do:
Log into your student's account
On the top bar, you'll find ANALYTICS. Click on it.
From here, you have two options:
OPTION 1
Go to the SUMMARY tab
On top of the title STUDENT SUMMARY, you'll find "Date Range". Please make sure it is "This School Year".
Scroll down and you should come to a list of IXL your student has worked on. To get more information about their score, just click on one and it should give you the details of their work.
OPTION 2
Go to the SCORE CHART
On top of the title SCORE CHART, you'll find "Date Range". Please make sure it is "This School Year".
Under SCORE CHART, select the subject. Then scroll down to the IXL you are looking for. It will give you both their score and when it was done. By clicking on IXL title, you should be able to view their performance.
The advantage of OPTION 1 is that when you have All Subjects in SUBJECT (This will be right on top where the DATE RANGE is, above STUDENT SUMMARY), and then you scroll down, it gives you information about all the work your student has done and when. In OPTION 2, although it requires scrolling, but it gives you scores along with date and how much time spent. Go with whatever works for you.
Any work done before the first day of school will not be counted. I look at these date stamps to consider if a student finished their work on time or not.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
