Dutch’s Challenge is an independent iPhone puzzle game built around short, satisfying levels, a growing miniature world, and a small cast of friends: Dutch, Bud, Bee, Queenie, and Kyle.
The goal is simple: make something people genuinely enjoy playing, and use its success to help create positive impact beyond the game itself.
Dutch’s Challenge started with something simple: curiosity.
Project Evergreen began as a personal experiment to see what was possible when a love of games met a growing fascination with AI. There wasn’t a studio, a big team, or a grand business plan—just a desire to learn, create, and see how far an idea could go.
Along the way, that experiment became something much more personal.
Inspired by Dutch and shaped by our family, Dutch’s Challenge grew into a family project built around exploration, persistence, fun, and making the journey a little brighter along the way.
And as the game grew, so did the idea behind it: if something we create can become successful, maybe that success can also put some good back into the world.
That idea led us to two causes that are especially meaningful to our family: The Lupus Foundation of America and The Painted Turtle.
Lupus has affected people close to us, making the work being done to improve the lives of people and families affected by the disease personally meaningful.
The Painted Turtle's mission is meaningful to us for similarly personal reasons. Its work gives children with serious medical conditions opportunities to experience camp, friendship, adventure, and childhood fun in an environment designed around their needs.
These aren't causes we selected for a marketing campaign. They are causes that have touched the lives of family and friends we care about.
Our hope is that, over time, Dutch’s Challenge can become more than a game our family created. If it becomes successful, we want charitable giving to become a meaningful and sustainable part of that success.
Dutch’s Challenge and Project Evergreen are independent projects. We are not currently representing Dutch’s Challenge as being sponsored, endorsed, affiliated with, or partnered with the Lupus Foundation of America or The Painted Turtle.
Any future donation program, specific giving commitment, or formal relationship with either organization will be communicated only after it has been properly established.
