The Hague Public Transport Museum has been housed in an old tram depot since 1989, the Frans Halsstraat depot in The Hague. This depot was built in 1906 and was used by the Haagsche Tramweg Maatschappij until 1983.

The Stichting Museum Buurtspoorweg operates a museum railway line between Haaksbergen and Boekelo in Overijssel. The foundation was established on February 21, 1967 and on June 23, 1989 was the first railway company next to the Dutch Railways to obtain a transport concession for the Haaksbergen – Boekelo section.

The Stoomtrein Katwijk Leiden is a narrow-gauge line with a track gauge of 700 mm around the Valkenburgse Meer, municipality of Katwijk, in the Dutch province of South Holland. Closely viewed, the train is a tram: the line is operated with a steam tram, as it was used in the Netherlands in the early 20th century.

The Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij is a steam train company that operates a tourist train service on the Dieren - Apeldoorn railway line on the Veluwe in the Dutch province of Gelderland. The steam train rides are popular with tourists, which is why the VSM runs every Sunday from the beginning of April to the end of October.
