Chiropody Services

Our Chiropodist, Jacky Fu D. Ch., provides general foot treatments to our patients addressing issues with nails, corns, and calluses. Patients require these treatments due to diabetes, difficult to perform self-care due to back problems, painful nails, arthritic conditions or fungal infection.

We will help our patients with optimal care to get back on their feet. We follow full sterilization procedures and policies according to the college guideline set out by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is a common injury that chiropodists deal with on a regular basis.

Plantar fasciitis occurs from overuse of the foot, more specifically heel. People typically experience a “stabbing” heel pain in their foot, which can be triggered by long bouts of standing.

Heel pain treatment typically consists of stretching, exercises, footwear, and topical medications.

Ingrown Toe Nails

Toenail fungus is an infection that gets in through cracks in your nail or cuts in your skin. It can make your toenail change color or get thicker. It can also hurt.

When a toenail is ingrown, it is usually growing in the sides of the nail often creating pain, redness, swelling and warmth in the toe and bacteria may enter and cause an infection in the area.

Calluses & Corns

Calluses and corns are caused by repeated pressure or friction on an area of skin. The pressure causes the skin to die and form a hard, protective surface.

A soft corn is formed in the same way, except that when sweat is trapped where the corn develops, the hard core softens. This typically occurs between toes.

Dry Cracked Feet

Dry, cracked heels can not only be unsightly, but can often be a source of pain and embarrassment. The good news is that most minor cracked heels are able to be treated and our Chiropodist can remove the dead skin from your feet in just 30mins leaving them soft and smooth foot care in Oshawa.

Bunions

A bunion is a condition that affects the bones & joints associated with the big toe.

It is one of the most common deformities of the forefoot. Orthotics can sometimes slow the progression by addressing the instability which causes the deformity, but they cannot reduce the deformity.

Custom Made Orthotics

Our chiropodist can treat foot pain by prescribing you custom orthotics.

A custom orthotic can treat foot problems such as plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, and general foot and heel pain.
