Durham-Bristol Banking Policy Forum

Banking in Times of Inflation

A collaboration between the University of Bristol Banking Research Group and Durham University Business School Centre for Banking Institutions and Development.

Welcome to the future of banking! We are excited to invite you to an exclusive and thought-provoking workshop on “Banking in Times of Inflation”, hosted by the Centre for Banking, Institutions, and Development (CBID) at Durham University Business School. Mark your calendars for September 14th, 2023, as we gather at Durham University Business School for a day of ground-breaking insights and collaborative exploration.

At "Durham-Bristol Banking Policy Forum" we are assembling a diverse and distinguished group of academics, practitioners, and policymakers to delve into the dynamic landscape of the banking industry. The workshop will feature two engaging sessions that bridge the gap between cutting-edge academic research and real-world banking practices.

In our Academic Session, world-renowned researchers will share their latest studies on crucial topics such as the impact of inflation on trust in national politics and central banks, the role of climate concern in shaping inflation expectations, and the intricate relationship between bank lending and corporate inflation. Be prepared for stimulating discussions and thought-provoking debates that will shape the future of banking.

The Policy Session will bring forth influential voices from the Bank of England, Tandem Bank, Atom Bank and Fathom Consulting who will share their insights and experiences in navigating the challenges and opportunities in the industry. Engage in open discussions, ask questions, and gain valuable insights from those at the forefront of shaping banking policy.
