A series of real life model toys and vintage objects I capture in multiple still frames to create 3D models in Polycam, using photogrammetry. On my smartphone I use Polycam to recreate its duplicate - exploring how “the digital and physical are increasingly meshed” in augmented reality (“Digital Dualism versus Augmented Reality”) Digital Dualism by Nathan Jurgenson in 2012. Which is where this current playful investigation emmnates from in late 2022 in these art-in-progress pages. A main goal is to geo-locate them in my vicinity like an outdoor hybrid gallery anyone can access, with a smartphone.
After reading Otto Ranks 1916 theory about The Double I discovered the Germanist Richard M. Meyer - who was writing in this tradition in 1916 when he described E. T. A. Hoffmann's use of the double-theme as arising from his "longing for a more exalted existence."
